About the Song
"Through It All" was written by Lauren Lucas, Jay Weigel and Shane Theriot. Jay and Shane are two Grammy-winning New Orleans musicians with deep roots in soul and R&B. Weigel has scored music for several of Tyler Perry's films; Theriot spent years as guitarist for the Neville Brothers and now serves as music director for Hall & Oates. That pedigree shows up in the track's classic groove, from the warm electric guitar tone and chimes, down to the choir behind Lauren's lead vocal.
"Through it All" is a classic, mid-tempo R&B love song built on old-school soul instincts. It's a song about a steady, lived-in devotion; a love that's been tested and kept choosing itself over and over anyway.
